Derek is a founder and director of Compliance and Privacy Solutions Ltd and leads the consultancy services, specialising in data protection and anti-money laundering compliance.

Derek served 30 years in the UK Police service in a variety of roles from community policing, specialist operations and strategic transformation programmes. He retired as a senior officer in 2010 and entered the private sector as a business change consultant before moving into the security sector where he worked in the UK and Internationally. Derek holds a Diploma in Security Management, is a Registered Independent Security Consultant, a member of the Association of Security Consultants and the Security Institute. 

As the owner of an SME business, Derek understands the need for a good network of likeminded businesspeople to provide opportunities and support growth. Derek views Gatwick Diamond Business as playing a crucial role in facilitating those networks and being the voice of the wider business community.
