Andrew’s family’s business was in the honey industry. He wanted, however, to travel and joined Shell; amongst other roles he is a former Commercial Director of Shell UK Ltd but spent over two decades leading many of Shell’s largest corporate acquisitions and disposals in both North and South America. He was instrumental in forming Shell’s Commercial Academy aimed at improving commercial skills in the company. Andrew was subsequently on the Executive Committee of the Ministry of Defence before establishing his own consultancy company.  

Andrew holds an MBA from London Business School where he now tutors part time and most recently went back to University to gain a Masters’ degree in Organisational Psychology at University College London, demonstrating his commitment to life-time learning. Andrew has substantial governance experience and is on the boards of a number of SMEs.  

Andrew is relatively new to Gatwick Diamond Business but living in Cobham he is hugely supportive of its objectives; he is chair of one of gdb’s Diamond Leaders’ groups.
