2023 - Year in Review...
World-leading research, award-winning teaching, pioneering students, and fantastic new facilities - here are some highlights of our journey in 2023.
We made the top tiers for the social and economic benefits we deliver with partners, as measured by this year’s Knowledge Exchange Framework (KEF).
The last assessment for the Research Excellent Framework (REF) showed that 88% of the university’s submitted research is rated as having 'outstanding' or 'very considerable' impact beyond academia.
And finally, in our teaching, moving up from bronze, the University was awarded the silver award for the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), and jumped 22 places in this year’s Guardian University Guide – one of the biggest rises by any UK university.
