26.2 miles for charity dressed in karate Gi

On Sunday 26 June, Dan Mack, 32, from Brighton, will be taking on the first ever Brighton Trail Marathon to raise funds for Chestnut Tree House children's hospice, dressed in full Karate uniform.

Setting off from Brighton seafront at 8.30am, Dan will take on 26.2 miles of the beautiful South Downs National Park, with six iconic climbs including Brighton Racecourse and Ditchling Beacon.

The Brighton Trail Marathon is not for the faint hearted, and Dan is taking the challenge to the next level by ditching his running gear for full karate Gi. "It's definitely going to be a challenge," says Dan, "especially in the June heat and dressed head to toe in thick cotton!"

Dan has been practising karate for over 10 years now and wanted to combine his passion for running and karate to raise money for his local children's hospice. "I really want to raise as much as possible for Chestnut Tree House," continues Dan. "I'm not testing myself purely for fun, so please share my fundraising story and donate whatever you can! Chestnut Tree House is such a worthy cause, and one that is close to my family's hearts."
