I'm writing to share some of the latest information from Govia Thameslink Railway. 

We know that our services are vital to those making essential journeys right now, and across the network our staff are committed to providing those services day in, day out. They are also keenly seeking out other opportunities where we can make a positive contribution in the community. Over the last fortnight we've taken forward a suggestion from a member of staff which now sees us partnering with organisations to recondition bikes abandoned at our stations. Southern is working with specialist repair company 'Handlebars' and West Sussex County Council, and Thameslink has teamed up with Luton and Bedford Borough Councils. Under these two schemes, unloved cycles will be restored then rehomed with key workers who can really benefit from them.

We want to continue to show our appreciation of key workers and that is why we will be thanking them publicly over the next three weeks in a series of adverts across our networks - on stations, online, and in media. These messages, like the ones shown below, aim to highlight our gratitude for those working in essential roles such as the NHS, but also for our own staff, working so hard to keep our services running.

As the country increasingly considers options around how we will all move on from our current lockdown, GTR is turning its attention towards supporting any changes to restrictions confirmed in the coming weeks. We're working closely with colleagues in the DfT and across the industry to play our part in this nationwide challenge to restore the economy and bring people back to work, without compromising on our staff or customers' safety. The focus will be on increasing capacity, safely and reliably, when it is needed. 

I would finally like to thank you for your continued interest and support of our industry, and as changes to the country's daily routines are confirmed, we will continue to update and involve you in the changes to our service.
