- Leading Law Firm Wants To Promote Non-Traditional Career Pathways Into Law
The Gatwick office of national law firm, Irwin Mitchell, has highlighted its commitment to supporting local students and education establishments following the announcement that it will exhibit at the Crawley Careers Fair
Taking place at the K2 Leisure Centre on the 25th September 2018, the event has been organised by The National Careers Service, Coast to Capital LEP, Crawley Borough Council and SLN:COP.
It will bring together employers, training providers, colleges and universities to offer advice and support to help attendees prepare for the world of work and consider pathways into further education or employment.
Attendees of the event will have the opportunity to speak face-to-face with exhibitors and be able to take part in various workshops and presentations.
Irwin Mitchell will be exhibiting with members of its graduate recruitment team and paralegals, who came to Irwin Mitchell through its apprenticeship scheme, offering advice throughout the day.
Following the event, representatives from Irwin Mitchell plans to attend local sixth colleges and run informal sessions to promote the benefits of working at Irwin Mitchell's Gatwick office and the different routes, both traditional and non-traditional, into law.
Sarah Birkbeck, a partner at the Gatwick office of Irwin Mitchell who will be attending the careers fair, said:
"We are excited to be part of such a brilliant event and we're really looking forward to speaking to students from within the local community and playing our role in helping to raise awareness of the opportunities that exist for them here.
"Irwin Mitchell has highly successful graduate and apprenticeship schemes and we believe this event will help us connect with even more talented people who are interested about forging a successful career in law."
In addition, Irwin Mitchell will be raising its profile amongst university students when it attends the careers fair at the American Express Community Stadium on 7th November. Open to students from all years and courses, the event is jointly organised by Sussex University and Brighton University.
